Cormac Kerin died after he and his 10-year-old sister Shea were struck by a vehicle in Campbellcroft on Dec. 2. Shea remains in Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto with serious injuries.

A private service was held Friday at the Ross Funeral Home for Cormac followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church.

After the service, the procession — led by OPP and municipal police — made its way to the St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery on Toronto Road where residents, Cormac’s Northumberland Minor Hockey Association teammates and many first responders lined the streets to pay their respects.

Students from Grades 5, 7 and 8 at St. Anthony Catholic Elementary School where Cormac attended also gathered along the roadway.

Cormac is survived by his father Brendan, mother Jennifer, sisters Aishling and Shea.
