STEVE — or Strong Thermal Emission Velocity Enhancement— is an atmospheric phenomenon that appears as a purple and green light ribbon in the sky. As Phil Darlington explains, a new feature of STEVE is being investigated thanks to the photos and videos of several Alberta aurora chasers.
