Coronavirus: Tam says she’s encouraged by ‘smaller outbreaks’ in long-term care during 2nd wave

Canada’s chief medical officer of health Dr. Theresa Tam said Wednesday that while there have been a number of reports of cases of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities during the second wave of the virus, it’s an encouraging sign has been that the outbreaks in these facilities have been “smaller” than during the first wave. She said health officials now need to target facilities where more than one outbreak has occurred.
