Ontario Premier Doug Ford pushed back against claims that letters written by the mayors of Halton and Durham had stopped his government from rolling back those regions into a modified Stage 2, saying that politicians “have always had a say” in whether restrictions are imposed in their regions and that he had encouraged the mayors to write the letters.
