France to extend paternity leave duration for new fathers from 14 to 28 days

France will double the duration of allowed leave for new fathers from 14 to 28 days, French President Emmanuel Macron announced on Wednesday, as part of a reform for child welfare. The new rules, set to be put into law and take effect in July 2021, also entails seven days of required paternity leave, Macron added.
