Hurricane Sally expected to make landfall as Category 2 storm, says Louisiana governor
Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards wants residents of the Gulf Coast to get ready immediately for Hurricane Sally. Sally is expected to make landfall on the Gulf Coast, possibly as a Category 2 hurricane with around 105 mph maximum sustained winds, and reach shore by early Tuesday or early Wednesday morning. Officials are continuing to order evacuations along coastal Louisiana. Edwards said if any of its bands settle over Louisiana, it may lead to serious flooding and other dangerous weather conditions from the western Florida Panhandle to southeast Louisiana.
