On Thursday, former South Bend, Ind. mayor Pete Buttigieg said during his speech to the Democratic National Convention that it was “political courage” that made his marriage possible, as a member of the LGBTQ2 community. Buttigieg singled out what he said was the courage of Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, who he said “stepped out ahead” when he said marriage equality should be the law of the land.
