Nearly 9,000 GC Key accounts were hacked during CRA cyber attack, feds say

Marc Brouillard, acting-Chief Technology Officer of the Government of Canada said that hackers were able to fraudulently acquire approximately 9,000 of the roughly 12 million active GC Key accounts, a service used by nearly 30 federal departments to allow Canadians to access services like their My Service Canada account, adding that the attack has been halted and all affected accounts were cancelled.
