U.S. AG William Barr says George Floyd’s death led to ‘extreme’ reaction

U.S. Attorney General William Barr reiterated President Donald Trump’s claim on Wednesday that the recent increase in violent crime in some cities was due to a push to defund police, saying that the death of Black man George Floyd in Minneapolis on Memorial Day at the hands of police led to an “extreme” reaction.” He also claimed the rise was the “direct result of the attack on the police forces and the weakening of police forces.”
