U.S. Supreme Court rules Electoral College voters can’t go rogue

The U.S. Supreme Court issued a unanimous decision on a recent case involving the Electoral College refusing to free “faithless electors” in the system that decides the outcome of presidential elections. Past “faithless electors”, who are those in the Electoral College who cast their votes for someone other than the winner of their specific state, have in some cases had fines levied against them.
