George Floyd protests: Trump says he’s pulling back National Guard as peaceful protests continue
U.S. President Donald Trump tweeted on Sunday he was pulling back National Guard troops but promised that he would bring them back quickly if needed. The move comes after another day of mostly peaceful protests in response to the death of George Floyd, who died while in police custody on Memorial Day. Floyd is set to be buried on Tuesday. Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer seen on video kneeling on Floyd’s neck, is expected to make his first court appearance Monday.
