George Floyd death: Senate Democrats hold moment of silence honouring Floyd

For eight minutes and 46 seconds on Thursday, members of the U.S. Senate Democratic caucus stood in silence inside Emancipation Hall, some kneeling, to remember George Floyd, who died while in police custody on Memorial Day. Senator Cory Booker, said that the moment of silence was not just to mark Floyd’s “tragic death, but to give honour to his life.”
