Trudeau says China ‘doesn’t seem to understand’ Canada’s judicial independence

Speaking outside Rideau Cottage in Ottawa on Thursday, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said China “doesn’t seem to understand” Canada’s notion of judicial independence when it came to the detention of Huawei executive Meng Wanzhou compared to the detention of Canadians Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor.
