Coronavirus outbreak: Ontario premier says Canada ‘can’t risk’ reopening border with U.S.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford spoke out Wednesday against Canada reopening the border with the U.S., saying he made it very clear to the prime minister and other premiers that the country “can’t risk” opening it back up to regular cross-border travel. Ford said Canada would “open its arms” once clearance is received from Canada’s chief public health officer Theresa Tam.
