New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Thursday announced the moratorium period for evictions in the state, both residential and commercial, will be extended an additional 60 days until Aug. 20, meaning that no one could be evicted for the non-payment of rent as a result of the financial hardships the COVID-19 pandemic has caused.
