Coronavirus outbreak: 2,670 recoveries from COVID-19 in Toronto, city health official says

Dr. Eileen de Villa, Toronto’s medical officer of health, reported 2,670 recoveries from COVID-19 in the city as of Monday, saying this is a promising sign that the public health measures are working. She said that the city has to consider important parametres before reopening as announced by Premier Ford earlier Monday, including a continuous decrease of COVID-19 new cases, sufficient acute and critical health care capacity, the availability of personal protective equipment (PPE), sufficient case and contact tracing capacity and the ability to rapidly identify new cases and outbreaks.
