World Health Organization (WHO) Director General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on Monday that the development of a COVID-19 vaccine has been accelerated with the work the WHO has done with its partners over the years for other vaccines, including for SARS and MERS. He said the organization is “deeply concerned” over the impact of the pandemic on other health services, including providing children with vaccinations for other diseases, as this week marks World Immunization Week.
