Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced on Friday they had reached agreements with all provinces and territories to lower rent by 75 per cent for small businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic for April, May and June. He said the government would cover 50 per cent of reduction with the property owner covering the rest. Trudeau added a business owner paying less than $50,000 a month will be eligible for the assistance. Supports for larger businesses will also be announced in the coming days, Trudeau said.
