Coronavirus outbreak: Quebec announces $45M in funding to help recruit farm workers
Description
April 17, 2020
Quebec Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Minister Andre Lamontagne and Minister of Labour Jean Boulet on Friday announced $45 million in funding to help recruit people locally for fieldwork at farms this spring and summer. With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, there are fears that temporary foreign workers who usually fill a large amount of these positions will instead stay at home.
