Coronavirus outbreak: Scheer says Conservatives still pushing for in-person House sittings

Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer said Saturday his party is still pushing for in-person sittings of the House of Commons while abiding by Public Health measures, in order to ensure they can give transparency and hold the government to account “especially in a crisis.” He said the Speaker of the House had advised it could take “weeks” to establish a virtual alternative, and said while virtual sittings can provide for wider participation, in-person sittings are still necessary in his opinion.
