U.S. President Donald Trump said Wednesday that the federal government had amassed 30 million hydroxychloroquine tablets, which he said would distributed “in large amounts” to U.S. states as they continue to deal with the impact of COVID-19. The president has continued to promote the anti-malaria drug as a treatment for COVID-19 although scientists say more testing is needed to determine if it is safe and effective in the fight against the virus. He also denied that he had any stake in companies producing hydroxychloroquine.
