Coronavirus outbreak: Manitoba health official encourages people to wear non-medical face mask to prevent COVID-19 spread

Manitoba’s chief provincial public health officer Dr. Brent Roussin on Monday said that in addition to practicing social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic, people are encouraged to wear non-medical face masks to protect others from catching the virus through droplet spread. Roussin stressed that wearing the mask does not protect the individual wearing it from catching the virus, rather, it could help prevent further spread of the virus.
