Coronavirus outbreak: Pallister, other premiers propose federal emergency reserve in wake of COVID-19 pandemic

Manitoba Premier Brian Pallister on Monday said that as Canadian provinces begin to run out of money and enter further debt situations due to spending to counter the economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, the federal government should create a “federal emergency reserve.” Pallister said that he and the other premiers have been in talks about this idea and have recently proposed it to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
