Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced Saturday that his government would invest $40 million for women’s shelters and sexual assault centres across the country, with an additional $10 million to go toward shelters helping indigenous women and children escape violence. Trudeau said the government has also boosted funding for Canada’s “Reaching Home” homelessness strategy by over $157 million.
