Manitoba Premier Brian Pallister announced on Friday that the government will be expanding Manitoba’s protection plan to provide immediate and sustained cash flow tax relief for Manitoba workers, home owners, and small businesses. He said there will also be a four-month deferral period for individuals and businesses to pay their provincial income taxes, giving people until August to pay without incurring interest or penalties. In addition, Pallister announced a six-month deferral period for any interest or penalties for Manitoba Hydro or Centra gas bills, MPI premiums, workers compensation board premiums, and education property taxes.
