The Canadian Senate has passed the $82-billion emergency coronavirus support package that the federal government fast-tracked through Parliament. Federal Finance Minister Bill Morneau defended the legislation and the new powers it grants to the federal cabinet, saying the government needs to be able to act quickly to get aid to Canadians.
