Coronavirus outbreak: P.E.I. clarifies liquor, cannabis store stance after panic-buying
Prince Edward Island’s chief public health officer Dr. Heather Morrison clarified the province’s stance on liquor stores after islanders scrambled on Wednesday and Thursday to stockpile alcohol and cannabis. A day prior, Morrison had advised non-essential services would need to close by 2 p.m. AT and that liquor and cannabis stores fell under this category, resulting on people lining up despite social distancing measures to stock up. Morrison said on Thursday that they would be releasing policies surrounding pick up, delivery and possibly drive-thru options for these types of stores and apologized for the miscommunication.
