Coronavirus outbreak: WHO declares COVID-19 a global pandemic

During the World Health Organization (WHO) daily media briefing on the novel coronavirus on Wednesday, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the Director General of WHO declared the COVID-19 outbreak to be a global pandemic. Dr. Ghebreyesus also said that framing the situation as a pandemic doesn’t change the WHO assessment of the threat caused by the virus, nor does it impact their overall response plan.

Coronavirus outbreak: WHO declares COVID-19 a global pandemic

During the World Health Organization (WHO) daily media briefing on the novel coronavirus on Wednesday, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the Director General of WHO declared the COVID-19 outbreak to be a global pandemic. Dr. Ghebreyesus also said that framing the situation as a pandemic doesn’t change the WHO assessment of the threat caused by the virus, nor does it impact their overall response plan.
