Bill Blair reiterates rail blockades are ‘unacceptable’, says legal recourse may be necessary

Public Safety Minister Bill Blair reiterated the government’s stance on Tuesday that the ongoing rail blockades, being held in solidarity with the Wet’suwet’en hereditary chiefs, was “unacceptable” and must come down. He added that while some have been removed, other protesters remain at blockades and though legal recourse through the court and enforcement may be necessary, the hope is police jurisdictions will resolve the issues peacefully.
