Coronavirus outbreak: World Health Organization says COVID-19 appears ‘not as deadly’ as SARS, MERS

The World Health Organization’s (WHO) director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on Monday that while there had been a decline in reported cases of COVID-19 people should be cautious and that “every scenario is on the table” with regards to the virus. However, he said that based on information received so far, the virus was “not as deadly” as other coronaviruses like SARS and MERS.
