Transportation Minister Marc Garneau said Friday that CN and Via Rail have been in “constant contact” with the government over recent stoppages due to rail blockades by protesters in solidarity with Wet’suwet’en hereditary chiefs who oppose the construction of the Coastal GasLink pipeline, and added that the “immediate solution” is ongoing engagement with the First Nation.
