Foreign Affairs Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne said so far he’s heard from African leaders that they’d welcome Canada on the United Nations Security Council, saying they’ve shown inclination that it would be a “Trans-Atlantic voice” on the high-profile U.N. body, adding being on the council would allow Canada to bring global issues to the table.
