The death toll of the coronavirus rose to 724 people on Saturday, nearing the 774 total deaths that occurred during the SARS outbreak in the early 2000s. It was also confirmed a 60-year-old U.S. man in China was the first non-Chinese death from the illness. Five British nationals were also reported to have diagnosed with the virus in France after staying at the same ski chalet in Savoie.
