Government would help repatriate Canadians in China if assistance requested: Champagne

During Question Period in the House of Commons on Feb. 3, Health Minister Patty Hajdu said that Canada’s processes in place for dealing with the outbreak of the novel coronavirus are different than those of the U.S., so Canada doesn’t need to declare a public health emergency. Foreign Affairs Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne said that if asked, the federal government would help repatriate Canadian citizens from China, although Canadians haven’t yet been evacuated from the country.
