The American Medical Association Pediatrics has been studying MRI scans . They are of the brains of young children spending more than the recommended time in front of screens (TV, smartphones, computers, game devices, etc ) during the day. The findings not only detect a change in brain development but also indicates a challenge for the brain’s future development as well. Peterborough Public Health Nurse Kara Koteles breaks down some of the findings and helps parents look at non-screen engagement and healthy brain growth for babies and small children.
