NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh announced in Gatineau, Que they will increase the federal funding by $2.5 billion for communities to respond to natural disasters such as flooding, but said they also need to work on putting in place infrastructure in order to prevent damage to homes and businesses in the future before disasters occur.
