Mississauga, Ont. mayor urges open, honest conversation on mental health

Mississauga, Ont., Mayor Bonnie Crombie said on Sept. 10, which is also World Suicide Prevention Day, that over the past decade, there has been a positive societal shift in the way mental health is perceived, but stigma still remains. On this day, the Ontario government also announced $3 million in funding over three years for a program that’s designed to end suicide in Mississauga’s children and youth.
