Farmers and significant contributions noted on Peterborough County Agricultural Wall of Fame

The survival of local farms and the farm industry goes well beyond your “Love Local” campaign.

A Peterborough-area organization is recognizing the local, provincial and federal impact of Peterborough County farmers.

On Global News Morning Peterborough, Wayne Warner, longtime dairy farmer (retired) and chair of Peterborough County Agricultural Wall of Fame Committee, as well as Don Caza, founder of Caza Berry farm and owner of Caza Farm Equipment, talk about the Wall of Fame.

Caza is a 2019 inductee onto the Wall of Fame. He has been involved with Peterborough County Federation of Agriculture and also was a Peterborough County Wheat Board representative. His work with the Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association involved measuring crop residues and a well testing project with the University of Guelph. He also coordinated the Environmental Farm Plan for Peterborough County where he assisted farmers to identify projects to protect the environment and implement best practices. Farmers: they grow our food and set the momentum for that to continue, safely.
