Hong Kong police clash with masked protesters at Yuen Long station

Hong Kong police confronted hundreds of jeering residents on Wednesday inside a suburban subway station where demonstrators had gathered to protest a mob attack last month. The masked demonstrators sprayed fire extinguishers, water, and smeared the floor with cooking oil to stop the police from advancing, while others blocked station exits and sealed roads outside the station, in the latest string of violence during anti-government demonstrations since June.
