Challenges to building 2,000 new affordable units in Peterborough
As people continue to camp out downtown, late Tuesday mayor Diane Therrien and Peterborough-Kawartha MP Maryam Monsef released a 10 point plan to deal with homelessness and housing in the city.
One of the 10 steps outlined in the document is a proposal to build 2,000 affordable units over the next two years.
But a former planner for the city says that’s easier said than done.
