At 5:30 Friday morning about 200 people gathered for a sunrise ceremony to kick off National Indigenous Peoples Day. Along with singing, dancing, a ceremonial fire and prayers, there was also a theme of unity. Priya Sam has more from Nathan Phillips Square.
