On Sunday, U.S. Ambassador Robert Lighthizer was on Face the Nation to discuss trade with China. According to him, the recent arrest of Huawei CFO Meng Wanzhou shouldn’t have any impact on the ongoing negotiations. Lighthizer says the tariffs are designed to help coerce China into amending its intellectual property laws and protect American technology and ideas.
