One person was taken to hospital and a horse was killed following a collision north of Port Hope on Saturday night.
Around 10 p.m. Northumberland OPP were notified about horses wandering onto Ganaraska Road just east of Garden Hill.
A driver stopped and was attempting to help get the horses back onto a nearby property but as she did an eastbound car struck one of the horses.
The driver was taken to hospital in Cobourg with minor injuries. Her daughter in the vehicle was not injured.
Police were forced to dispatch the animal at the scene. No word yet if any charges will be laid.
