An eruption of explosive gas and ash at the Kilauea Volcano in Hawaii has emergency officials warning people to stay inside and shelter in place. The Hawaii Civil Defense reports the eruption sent a plume of ash up to 30,000 feet into the air. The USGS webcams show massive amounts of ash and gas coming from the Overlook vent within the Halemaumau crater at Kilauea Volcano’s summit.
