Fire destroys large lakefront Kelowna house; faulty chimney suspected cause

It was a quiet night at home for a Kelowna woman, curled up with a book with a log burning in the fire place. And then disaster struck. Her home was on fire. When crews arrived at the rural home along Okanagan Lake, there was little they could do and the large house was completely destroyed. It’s believed the inferno started because of a chimney fault.
