Scientists racing to save ‘Monkey Island’ after Hurricane Maria

One of the first places hit when Hurricane Maria slammed into Puerto Rico was Cayo Santiago, home of more than 1,000 macaque monkeys. Now scientists are trying to save the monkeys who may hold clues to the human mind’s mysteries, including insight into the causes of autism.
