North Korea’s latest launch of an intermediate-range missile did not showcase any new technology, an analyst on North Korea said on Friday in Tokyo, and may in fact be a sign United Nations’ sanctions are starting to take effect. Noboru Yamaguchi, an advisor at the Sasakawa Peace Foundation, said the latest launch, which flew over northern Japan and landed in the Pacific Ocean, showed how limited both “politically and technically” the North now is after the latest sanctions.
