Farmers, educators attempt growing indigenous corn with seed stored in the 1990s.
Description
September 6, 2017
They are Indigenous corn cobs (read "seeds" ) stored in a freezer over 20 years ago. The Flint Corn Community Project works with a small group of farmers and indigenous studies specialists to see if the corn can be resurrected, thrive as a crop, and even be returned to its people. Corn recently grown from these seeds will be the star attraction at a Community Dinner planned for October, 2017.
