A CF-18 fighter jet was making a practice run prior to the Lethbridge International Air Show when a problem occurred causing the plane to nosedive into the ground where it exploded in fireball. Capt. Brian Bews was able to eject with just seconds to spare before the fiery crash and parachuted to safety.
