Horticultural therapy program at CAMH helps people with addiction and mental health issues

Mon, Oct 31: Gardening can be therapeutic and for some it can be healing. The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) and FoodShare – an non-profit organization with a vision to provide healthy food for all — started Sunshine Garden in 2002 for CAMH clients who have an interest in gardening. It has become a year-round therapeutic and recreational garden program where clients participate in the planning, planting, watering and weeding.
